The time came to move on from Bas du Fort, and our destination was to be the next island north of us, Antigua.  But in order to get there we would have to sail south and west around the bottom of Guadaloupe, and this would be a longish trip.  Eileen does not like long sailing trips, so we decided to stop in Les Saintes again.

When we had last been there a couple of weeks before, the vegetation was dry and greyish brown with few leaves on the trees.  But after all the rain we had had over the last two or three weeks the island was now lush and green, and more importantly the sun shone for us whilst we were there.  We didn’t go ashore as we were just stopping for a rest before continuing in the morning, but it gave me the chance to snap a few pictures, something we had not been able to do when we were last there because of the inclement weather.

Here is the ‘trompe l'oeil’ house designed to look like the bows of an ocean going ship, which I described in the earlier log entry from these islands.
