We had an enjoyable time in Mindelo, but eventually it became time to move on.  We had a great sail across to São Nicolau, taking the route that passes south of São Vincente, Santa Luzia, Ilheu Branco and Ilheu Raso. The seas were flat and we had a good breeze, at first close hauled but as the day progressed the wind backed so that during the afternoon we were beam reaching for most of the time over 7 knots.  Even though we were sailing through seas that hold the world record for several fish species, we caught nothing. We dropped anchor outside the town of Tarrafal about half an hour before dusk.  Just one picture of the town so far.
