Cavat

Thursday May 4

Overcast wind NE 18 – 25 . Set sail once clear of the islands south of
Korcula. 2 reefs and ½ jib as gusts rush down off the mountains of Peljsec.
Sea relatively modest as short fetch to shore. Wind backs and eases as the
afternoon goes on allowing us to shake out the reefs and eventually set the
Gennaker from our new Bamar Roll Gen System. Sail unfurls itself once up.
More a surprise than a problem but teaches us that we have to keep tension
on the furling line to contain the spinnaker. Wind moves astern and we are
tacking downwind in 7 knots of breeze. Eventually lightens up further and
we decide to motor the balance of the way so we do not miss happy hour.

Only two boats on the town wall in Cavtat so we tie alongside. Good depth
but wall a bit low. Crew wander the town – very pretty place. Dinner at
Posjden at end of harbour. Great setting, pizza and casual food – good
choice.

Antonio comes buy in the morning to collect harbour fees 375kn. Extra
charge if we wanted electricity. Checking out with police and customs would
have been straight forward had we not listed Duncan who was born in Madras
as a Indian citizen and had to redo the complete form.
