Poros

Motor down the eastern coast of Ithaca and across to Poros on the south east
tip of Kefallonia.

Tie stern to the mole on the north of the harbour. There is 3 meters of
depth from the staircase outward but there are some submerged rocks near the
wall that prevented us from coming near enough to get ashore. The wall is
quite rough and the tie offs irregularly spaced. If we had less depth (2m)
we could have come along the west side, the town quay, that is better laid
out. There is a shallow bank before the end of the harbour that you would
have to avoid. The port looked a bit run down. We took the dinghy ashore and
did a walk about the town. Little of attraction except a wonderful bar
called Remetzo in a grotto at the end of the mole. Had dinner at an
excellent inexpensive Taverna O' Tzibas run by a Frenchman and his mother
near the ferry entrance. E15/pp including excellent house wine.
