Left Venice for Croatia at 9 AM. Sun finally came out after several very
wet days In Venice. Beautiful day! Sail and motor but the sailing was the
best part! Beautiful town of Porec (pronounced porridge) and we are the
center of attention at the main dock. Cocktails served up and enjoyed with
some of Les's homemade bread, olive oil and balsamic. Delicious! Linda and
Didi head off to find a restaurant. Find several but settled on St. Nicola
right down the dock from the boat. We later find out it is the best
restaurant in Porec and we can certainly attest to that. Dinner at 9. The
owner waits on us personally (of course there was only one other couple in
the restaurant but it is late in the day and early in the season). We all
have delicious dinners, turbot, risotto, beautiful salads, and lots of wine.
We ended with coffee and grappa. Many types of grappa...ask Chris. He
tried and loved them all!! Found our way back to Monterey and another class
of wine before bed. A great day!!
