Wind NW 12. Sail with MPS 15 miles to Polace. Anchor in centre of pool
beyond town. Ranger comes by to collect park fee of K90 per person. We learn
later that the fee covers us for the season. Dinner on board.

Next morning, hike to Pristaniste and take ferry over to Sv Marija. Should
have brought swim suits as the water was beautiful. Several beer disappear
waiting for the return ferry. Walk back to town and organise dinner at
Calypso which is run by a Croatian Canadian. He sells us on ordering Octopus
under the Bell which has to be ordered in the afternoon. The octopus (the
size of a cat) is put in a pan along with potatoes, onions and vegetables.
The pan is covered with a bell and glowing coals are heaped on top. It is
slow cooked for about 2 hours.

We arrive about 8:00 ready for action, have a bit of wine and then start to
dig it. The potatoes and veg are good but the octopus is definitely an
acquired taste - we should have had the lamb. Malvazija wine is excellent
K170. Service a bit slow.
