Little Vathi
Say good bye to the Dinsmores then motor up the Ithaki Channel past Fiskardo
as a North wind fills in to 12 knots. Set sail and the wind quickly backs as
we get out of the channel leaving us with a lovely reach to Meganisi.
Wind continues to back and dies out a bit as the afternoon gets on but we
are able to sail all the way to the entrance to little Vathi. Yannis' people
at Odessesus direct us to a berth on the quay just north of the reception
house. It is a bit shallow coming in as our depth alarm sounded but there is
3 meters alongside. As the lazy lines are designed for shorter boats, we
laid out chain on the way in then took the lazy lines to our breast cleats.
Mooring fee E50 includes water and juice. 20% higher in July and August. The
inner harbour would have been too shallow for us.
