Try to refuel in Zadar but they are filling the tanks and we are told to
expect a 2 hour wait. I recheck our supplies and compute we have enough to
get back to Agana so we take off. Mags has noticed the sewage was not
pumping out Tuesday so we anchor off the appropriately named Ugljan Otok to
give the tank the Heimlich. No success. Lot's of bubbling in the tank but no
production. The pump appears to be sucking but we take it apart anyway and
replace the bellows with parts aboard. Still no action. Decide to sail on
and ponder the situation. Figure it may be a problem with the tank
breather - no air in - no sewage out. So I stand on my head and clean out
the breather filter - a beautiful job. Still nothing. We then decide we will
snake the tank. I disconnect the line from the top of the tank, insert the
snake, then decide to insert a water hose and give a good squirt around.
Success. AJ and her gang are saved.
With this success in hand, the breeze fills in 10kn and we have a beautiful
spinnaker run down Srednji Kanal heading for U Telascia. Sails down to go
through a narrow (40ft) channel Prolaz Mala Proversa to enter U Telascia.
Breeze is back up and has clocked around to create a beautiful reach up the
narrow channels between the islands to the head of U T and our destination
Taverna Goro - a recommendation from Chris Samuelson & Sonaia .
Anchor in 5 metres of water in the channel to the south east of the bay and
take the dinghy ashore. Taverna Goro is lovely. The owner's son who is now
managing the place spent time in New York has a New York Croatian girlfriend.
The chef spent several years in Seattle. They prepare us some grilled dentex fillets along with
eggplant, onions and squash from their garden all grilled with garlic - spectacular food in
the most remote and beautiful setting.
