Overnight the strong winds and heavy rain passed through the Azores and by sunrise this morning, the world seemed a calmer place.  I went ashore to buy fresh bread and we sailed at 0900.  Within an hour, we had cleared the land and the wind has settled from the SW at around 13 knots, with a long north westerly swell running.  We are making good speed under full sail, thinking of switching to the cruising chute if the wind backs at all.  We have 1340 miles to run to Gosport.
Morale is high and we have no defects (beyond that shredded spinnaker!).
Many thanks to the lovely people of Horta who made Escapade so welcome.
