We covered 152 miles in the first 24 hours at sea, but today the wind has been lighter and our speed has dropped. Warm sunshine provided good compensation though and I’m thinking of stowing my thermals away!
We crossed through the Gulf Stream during the night and emerged into a warmer climate around 4am.
The wind has gradually veered round to the north east and since sunset this evening has steadied at a very civilised 10 knots.  We are now headed south east in calm seas with good visibility and a quiet night in prospect. We are the most south easterly boat of the group that left yesterday, so there’s no pressure... its not a race!
No significant defects onboard and morale is high.
