Based in Phaeton Bay, we explored Tahiti Iti

 

Looking out towards Tahiti Nui:

 

       

 

You can clearly see the pass we used to get in from NZ and to our anchorage towards the end of the bay.

A year earlier we were still in Australia... a good distance covered since.

 

     Lovely pastures and farmland on the plateau    

 

At the point of Tahiti Iti at Taeahupoo is the famous surfing spot, where the August Billabong Pro world championship is held: The famous Blue Wave.

 

Here we met a new generation of Tahitian T-shirt designers.
