At our day 7 log we covered 1010 nm from Nuku Hiva and were 15 miles from
the halfway point.
As we are posting the blog, we just past halfway point and are well into
the boisterous North East trade winds averaging 25 knots and Kahia is romping
along at 7 knots with the wind aft of the beam. Now we have been able to lay a
direct course to Hilo.
Last night we had a few heavy but short squalls with one producing 40 knots
of wind... fortunately we were well reefed down and had no dramas other than a
good, refreshing soaking.
