It helps writing the blog and keeping our logbook as the
days start to merge from one to another. The night-watches are pleasant with
the full moon giving very good visibility. The wind is warm and we can stay
in t-shirts or just a fleece in the cockpit.
We are having another sunny day running downwind at good
speed. So far we have not seen any other vessel since we left Mindelo. We
are on our own and are grateful that all is
well aboard Kahia.
We are getting into the hang of the radio check every
morning on the Magellan Net and are sorry to hear Egret have some trouble. How
supportive everybody is and some closer boats are meeting up to give assistance,
which at 20 to 23 kts of wind and 2 to 3 meter swell will be hard
work.
We cleaned the fridge this morning and in the ocean
swell was quite a job. We are eating well, as the fresh food needs
eating now. Luckily the fridge is icing up again, so we can keep things cool and
all vacuum packed food look all right and will keep longer.
We dream of fresh broccoli, lettuce, grapes and a good
extra mature cheddar, not to mention bacon and a cooked breakfast we hope to get
in Antigua...
