Pain de Sucre, Les Saintes
15:51.62N 61:49.96W We had a wonderful time at this anchorage. It was calm and after some catamarans left, we were able to anchor closer to the beach. Kahia seen from Moonbeam Typical pattern for Guadeloupe The Bourg des Saintes is a lovely village with nice shops, stalls, bars, coffee places etc… Lyn and David from Moonbeam at the Wi-Fi café, time to catch up with e-mails A couple of many pretty homes After our morning outing Paul had a fab time snorkeling and brought up beautiful shell he found on the seabed under Kahia. Isn’t this amazing? More scrubbing the underneath Our neighbour Rinsing some washing (first sea-water, then fresh water) And then some relaxing time memorable sun downer We loved Les Saintes very much and saw more inviting anchorages around. We were able to relax into the environment and had a good rest of the endless list of jobs. We also had a lovely evening on Ayya, a French Yacht, we saw last in Cascais (Portugal) with Olivier and Delphine and their children Tom (5years), Benjamin (3years) and Zoe (5months). They are on their way to the Pacific, so we know we will meet again. We also hope to see Lyn and David again, as they were good company and gave us good advice about the Caribbean. We had New Year’s dinner together in Antigua and found each other at the same anchorages as we headed South. |
