Lively start leaving NZ coastline and weaving
through the outer islands in a bumpy sea but by nightfall the wind dropped
to a light Southerly of around 10 knots, which made for a comfortable first
night at sea.
Our 24 hour log is 118 miles and we are now sailing
downwind, goose-winged in 15-20 knots with a boat speed of 6 to
7 knots.
It was worth waiting for this weather window and we are
glad we are having such a good start.
Message to Bill and Cathy in Canada: We received your
text, thank you, so good to hear from you, it's our turn now to entertain
you with off-shore news.
