Kahia was launched on 21st February 2007 and since that day we have flown the same British Red Ensign, which over the years has been bleached in the sun and was ripped by wind and waves.

We have lost count on the times we mended it. Jakkie brought us a new ensign from the UK and it was a special moment to celebrate this 7th Birthday by replacing the old with the new.

 

                

 

        We enjoyed celebrating this occasion with Earl and Kayleen aboard Kahia.

 

                     

 

                                                                                 

                                                                    The frangipanis from Earl and Kay’s garden lasted for another week on board.

 

Since we launched Kahia, we have sailed to 21 countries and 79 Islands. We have lost count on the hundreds of anchorages and ports but have amazing memories of those places.

What makes some places more memorable are the times we have spent with locals and some have now become dear friends.

Our travels have given us faith in the kindness and love of human kind whatever our origins.
