Puerto Baquerizo (San Cristobal) is the Capital of the Galapagos.

It is very clean, the people are smiling, welcoming and there is a peaceful quality about the place.

The most striking along the seafront promenade are the population of sea-lions just everywhere, sleeping in the shade, to the point of tripping over them if you are not careful.

It is fascinating to watch them playing in the waves one minute, then coming ashore, flopping down and falling asleep motionless the next.
