Before we arrived here, we had a lovely, relaxing day with Martha and
Audrey playing card games and making felt flowers, while Eric and Amy worked all
day at the yard preparing Papillion to be left for a few months.
![]() A few days later, we had to say our good byes and met their friends on
Kyrimba, another inspiring family with three girls.
So, after four days in the Marina and lots of jobs on Kahia, we anchored in
Bay Orphelinat and socialised with Simon, Carolina and their three daughters on
Kyrimba. They are from Terra del Fuego, Argentina and had bought their boat here
in Noumea over a year ago exploring the South Pacific. There was a lot to share
and as it was raining, we delayed our departure and Catherine introduced the
family to wet felting.
More felt flowers....
![]() Here we also met Alan on his junk-rigged dory schooner Zebedee, who
anchored his engineless boat behind us. He is now on his second circumnavigation
in this boat and it was an inspiration to listen to his adventures, while
sipping his delicious homemade wine.

Here he is saying good-bye, as he propels his yacht manually with a Chinese
yuloh.
And while we see him disappear at the horizon, we make our way to Ducos,
the industrial part of town, to get a new water-separating filter for our
engine...
