We are now anchored in a very small beautiful
bay halfway between the villages Hanavave and Omoa. The valley behind us and the
rocky, high cliffs to the side of us are covered in thick and varied
vegetation and trees. Palmtrees laden with coconuts grow right down to the
water's edge and a small, rock and sand beach is just behind
us. On top of the mountain is Roberto's cabin, where Mick and Tenna
from Denmark live and work on the land. We look forward to exploring more
of the island but are not sure if we will manage the 1/2 hour climb up the
mountain or even be able to land the dinghy on the beach... the alternative is
to take the dinghy to Omoa (a 15 minute trip around the headland).
Originally we tried to anchor in Omoa, but the swell was not very pleasant and
here it is much more comfortable.
