Dartmouth-Treguier

As we were filling up with fresh water on Dartmouth town quay before heading to France, we met Tom Cunliffe and his wife Roz, who were moored opposite with their new boat Constance. We had a lovely meeting. They came aboard, gave us very encouraging feedback and appraisal of Kahia. We saw it as a good omen to have met and be waved off by such experienced and inspiring sailors.
We arrived safely at midnight in Treguier river (1am local time), after a fast sail in strong winds and rough seas. Swept by one large wave, the cockpit stanchion was bent and the companion way awash. First time soaked down below! Catherine’s mobile waterlogged... so unfortunately not able to read the lovely replies coming in before we left English waters. Resting today and enjoying French cuisine, we hope to sail west along the coast tomorrow. |
