I don't know what it is like in the UK but one thing that we can't complain about here is the weather - steady trade winds and glorious sunshine. We haven't seen any rain since a couple of days out of Mackay.

Today has been a less problematical day.  The wind was quite strong overnight so we reefed the genoa and the mainsail.  Also, during the day. the seas have been confused, with seas coming from all directions.   This has meant that our distance covered over the previous 24 hours has reduced slightly to 184 miles, but our average speed over the past four days has been just over 195 miles over the ground a day which is pretty good going.

If we continue at this rate, we should arrive in Cocos Keeling around midday on Sunday.

Ant is on mother watch today and is creating what has become known as 24 hour pie, as it seems to him that it has taken that long to make!!  All credit to him though, he has never made pastry before and is doing a chicken and leek pie from scratch, including making the pastry.  I thought that pastry came from the chiller section at Tescos.  It is smelling great, although he is concerned that after such a lot of effort (including rolling pastry with a wine bottle) it may not work our - we will see.
