Back to Nevis and a lot of familiar faces!

Saturday morning was a lovely day, sunny with a great breeze, so we sailed all the way over to Nevis.  I say all the way but it actually only took about 2 hours at the most!  It is great to be back here again.  Pat and Stuart had arrived on Friday, so had checked out the moorings near them and were ready with a list of suggestions.  We had a few issues with the wind which made hooking the mooring a bit tricky, but after an unprecedented, and shameful, 3 attempts we were securely tied up!
After sorting out customs etc, we spent a leisurely hour or two catching up with Pat and Stuart over coffee in a beach side cafe.  We had thought that despite being so close to each other whilst travelling round, we would actually mange to miss each other until Antigua, but at least that didn't happen.
In the afternoon we went to find the new Double Deuce bar.  Due to some development plans, Mark and Lyndetta had to move the bar to a new venue, just behind the beach.  The new place is very different and even has a pool for lounging - perfect!  We had told the girls how good the burgers were, so just to make sure we reserved 6 in the afternoon, just in case they had a rush on them that evening and ran out.  As it turned out we all had the burgers apart from Pat who loves lobster!  We all had a fab night dancing until 2am - unfortunately due to an early start on Sunday, Pat & Stuart had to leave early.
Sunday was, as you can imagine, a slow day.  The weather was cloudy in the morning so we got up leisurely and after a bit of maintenance fixing the forward shower door, which had somehow fallen off, we had brunch then headed to the beach to meet Tom and Debbie for drinks.  We walked along the beach collecting shells to make necklaces with - a very relaxing day!
Provisions were getting a bit light by this stage so, the next day, the girls and I headed to town while John went to Double Deuce to help Mark install the new dinghy winch.  One of the problems here is that the beach is very steep - too steep to pull our dinghy up.  When it is just John and I we use the canoe, but this is obviously no good when there are 4 people!  The shopping was fairly successful - the girls weren't too horrified by the supermarket this time, it is actually quite good.  We also stopped off at the cafe to try some of their home made ginger beer - it is much spicier than you ever get at home, needless to say a small taster was enough.
Monday night we spent up in the mountains at Mark and Lyndetta's house.  The house has come on on the last 12 months since we were last here, but there is still a bit to go - one thing that never changes is how fantastic the view is especially from the third floor - absolutely amazing!  The girls have really enjoyed Nevis and meeting some of our friends while they have been here.  Our problem now is that we have so many invites that we need to get a diary to keep track of our social life - we are busier than we are at home - what a great problem to have!
