An update on the 'situation' here in Tahiti

The biggest issue here is getting the parts, fortunately, we are very lucky to have a good rigger to do the work once they arrive.
Initially we were pleased to be told that the rigger had received verbal and email conformation that the parts were available from New Zealand, and would arrive in 3 days, on Friday. This would mean we would be on our way very soon and only be a few days behind the rest of the rally, as the last group to leave Bora Bora go next Tuesday, 13 May. Today, however, it is a different story. When it came to actually placing the order, the rigger was told the parts were not in stock and would have to be brought in from Europe - aaaaaaahhhh!
It was going to be easier and certainly quicker to source the parts ourselves from Europe, and have them shipped via America, missing out New Zealand altogether. This certainly means a delay until next week at the earliest. As I am writing this, we are waiting for confirmation of a delivery date, so we can make some plans as to what we do in the meantime. We can't go far in the boat at the moment, as the rig has all been loosened to allow the removal of the foil from the front as it is one of the main supports for the mast.
Oh life in paradise - stuck in Tahiti for a week, I am not expecting much sympathy!!!!
