After a wet and dismal start, we had a very healthy breakfast of banana bread, and set out for Carriacou. The wind was behind us and the 10 miles between Union Island and Carriacou went quickly as we sailed along. This was another first for the girls, actually being under sail. Once anchored, we went ashore, with the idea of looking round the town and then heading to the beach for some late afternoon sun. The town is very small, and mostly shut which was surprising, so we headed out to the beach. Our preferred option was Paradise Beach on the island itself, which looks as good in the picture as it sounds, but again the weather was against us, so to avoid a very wet dinghy ride home we went to Sandy Island, just off the mainland. This again is exactly what is says - and very pretty. Then the rain came again, and we headed for home arriving back at the boat soaked, cold, very salty and desperate for showers!

The fabulous beach view was somewhat affected by the terrible weather!!
