Staniel Cay has been our base for the last few days, and I have just realised that I haven't really mentioned it.  It is a small island, with a very busy yacht club serving really quite nice food - it is very friendly, so much so we were tempted to stay for Christmas, but we need to head south soon, or we will end up with an enormous journey, we have at least two sails of two nights or more as it is to get to Puerto Rico!
The island is very small, but has a few holiday cottages, a small airport and a couple of grocery stores.  Wednesday is mailboat day - a very important day for the island, everything comes on the boat including fruit and vegetables and other provisions which are getting a bit thin on the ground by Monday!
We have ben having a few electrical issues recently with our power usage going crazy and then the freezer defrosting itself - a really big deal as we had spent a fortune stocking up in Charleston, and there is nothing here to replace it with - we did find and fix a potential problem which will hopefully resolve the issue, but that's cruising, despite the perfect beaches and idyllic islands, there is always something to fix!  Fingers crossed we are all up and running again!

 The Yacht Club

The local clinic - the doctor visits once a month so you need to make sure you are ill at the right time!

The local supermarket - not quite Tesco's, for one thing it was always closed!
