This is another short post to allow me to put a point in the map to keep our route correct! When we arrived back in Alice, we were pleased to see it was a bit cooler. The temperature when we first arrived was extreme, the car was showing 47 degrees when we left it in the shade and 45 when we left it in an underground car park! It was so hot my sunglasses shattered!

You really could cook an egg on the bonnet here!

It is now about 32-35, having cooled while we were away and much better, we don't even need the air con on in the hotel room at night now - we are worried we are getting a bit soft actually, although, unlike the Australians, we don't think it is too cold to swim in an outdoor pool!

While we were in town today, we bought a painting off a local Aboriginal artist on the lawns. There are lots of galleries here, but as usual a large chunk of money goes to the gallery whereas this way it goes straight to the artist herself.

Our painting and the artist - I guess she finished it before she hurt her arm!

Tomorrow we head out of Alice and then north to Tennant Creek on our way back to Queensland.
