Good morning everyone! Sunday morning but not a complete day of rest here. At 0300 thawing was starting to increase so we furled our big reaching sail. It was convenient to do it at that time because we were both up - Huon about to take over the watch from me. We have left the sail hoisted, but rolled up on itself. If the weather gets very nasty we will have to lower it completely. At 0630 there was more work to be done and reefed the mainsail. The wind had increased to Force 5 but it is surprisingly gusty often up to 6. It has steadily veered and is now a but N of W, so just on the beam.

Our friendly little swallow is no more. He settled down in the cockpit snugged under the chart plotter, but by the morning had perished. So the crew lined the deck as his coffin draped in the national flag of his country was buried at sea!

So all is well, the rain has stopped and the sky is blue again. Huon is up having his breakfast (I had my museli, flax seed, banana and kefir yoghurt an hour or so ago while he was still asleep).
