Emily arrived on time yesterday afternoon. I’d done all the shopping, I hope, and if not, E will be quick to tell me when she finds out “why are there 100 chocolate bars and 100 tins of beer but no fruit?” Actually there are none of the former and lots of fruit! I had been looking forward to shopping at the market but it was not running so I went to the supermarket instead.

Anyway, right on time, Emily’s train pulled into the station and there she was looking relaxed despite the stress of air travel. She was soon settled aboard and we had a meal ashore.

This morning we moved round to the reception pontoon to take on some fuel and clear out for the passage to Lanzarote. This manoeuvre was not at all straight forward with 25 knots (and occasional gusts of more) blowing straight off the pontoon. Fortunately the crew from a recently arrived Discovery 57 gave us some help.

Now we are on our way! Bright sunshine but 25 k of wind on the quarter. We have a well reefed main and no genoa at the moment.

Love to all at home!

Peter
