On my way!

I am on my way after a false start this morning. My agreed departure time with HM Customs was between 10 and 12 this morning. They are not strict about that but I was rather keen to be away before the rain came in, forecast for 11:00. So I stowed all our heavy mooring lines that we use in our permanent berth, then slipped my mooring and went round to the fuel berth to top up our diesel tank. I realised that the log impeller was not working, so speed and distance were not showing and also there was a minor presentational problem with the radar. It was safest not to try and sort these out under way, so I anchored at Cawsand while I solved both problems.
The result of course was that as I got the anchor up for a re-start it was raining! Yuck. . . Not much wind, a sloppy sea (forecast was for moderate to rough sea despite not much wind and it was all rather unpleasant!
Now things are better, still not much wind and on the nose but the Sun is out and I am 3.5 miles S of Eddystone Lighthouse. I am I hope clear of a naval Exercise as it includes live firing this afternoon. I have just been passed by HMS DIAMOND, less than 0.5 miles away. Any Barbers reading this may be interested as of course Diamond is one of our military affiliates. A couple of years ago I went aboard and enjoyed hospitality at the barbers bar in her wardroom!
