Slow but sailing again

We will certainly not break any records for a fast passage time on this trip. We motored for the best part of 24 hours, using a significant amount of fuel and of course filling up is not an option unless we divert well over 100 miles off our route and call in to Vigo in NW Spain. However at midnight we were able to stop the engine briefly and since 0200 (it is now 0745) we have been sailing again. There is a gentle 8-10 knot breeze, blowing directly from Plymouth. That of course means we have to tack (zig-zagging towards our destination) because we can not sail directly into the wind. Never mind, we have no complaints and anticipate for a more favourable wind by late tomorrow or Thursday. I will get the next forecast shortly.
Meanwhile, so sorry to hear that the weather was so grim for the Upper Clatford May Fayre and for any other bank holiday events. So many people put a huge amount of work not events like that, the visitors always seem to enjoy it and some very important funds are raised for local causes. No doubt the girls who gulp - sorry, Ladies who Sip - will analyse it all at the Crook and Shears later today!
So, almost time for the forecast and I haven't had breakfast yet although y usual 2 large mugs of tea have gone down.
Best wishes to all
