A Slow Start

Well, I’ve started, but rather slowly. The morning was grey but still and it was just after 0800 as I motored out of my berth in Quinto do Lorde Marina. Once outside I stowed the fenders and lines then turned for the NE end of the island, only about 3 miles away.

It is always good to find out what has been forgotten and this time it was to take the last bag of rubbish ashore. Not serious of course but it will mount up over the next couple of weeks.

By 1030 the sun was managing to show itself through the clouds and now (1445) it is a cloudless blue sky and hot. Also I am afraid, windless. I managed to sail for about an hour but otherwise have been motoring and it looks as if I won’t have much wind for a while. I have a full tank of fuel but it may become a worry if things don’t change.

Cold meat and salad for lunch - I won’t be starving!

I am now just over 20 miles from land but it is still as clear as anything.

Best wishes to all.

Peter
