I am having a lot of trouble with my satellite phone and even as I write this, I do not know if it will get posted. So the big message is do not be anxious if there is nothing from me. I used the phone for a voice call this morning to reassure Emily that I am fine.

Actually better than fine! Yesterday was a bit frustrating with a lot of motoring - some 16 hours in all. I passed 3 ships in the night on their way to S America. Only one came within a mile. However I was up quite a lot during the night so not on top form this morning...

But in rough order, 2 mugs of tea. Stop the engine. Some breakfast and several frustrated attempts to send emails. Then set my large reaching sail. Not as big as a spinnaker but much easier to handle (out of practice and it did not seem easier). Furled mainsail and set ordinary genoa as well. Phew, that was hot work, so shower and shave. Sun out, coffee made. I’ve been busy and since then salad for lunch.

Sun shining now and a glorious deep blue sea 5 and a half knots in the right direction. Of course I don’t have an up to date forecast, but some high cirrus suggests a front out to the West.

Hope this gets transmitted ok.

Peter
