Hello everyone!

If the system works, my position, given in the first line of this blog will appear on the map. It is lunchtime and I am making my way slowly towards the Lizard. There is not much wind and the sea is calm. Sunny but quite misty. I was awake at 0600 desperate to get started (I don’t mean that in a urological sense) but frustrated because I needed help with a task before setting off. I found yesterday that my radar was not working - possibly because I had obeyed the instruction to upgrade the software. Nothing I did yesterday made any difference and nor did a call to the helpline. So I called a local agent fro help. This meant moving from the mooring buoy where I spent the night into a marina where the engineers live. They came promptly, looked at everything, checked all sorts of things but the end result is no radar. Never mind, that is a luxury and I have crossed Biscay more times without than with it. However it is very nice to have, especially around Ushant where there are masses of ships and fishing boats and often fog.... Hey ho.

I have set my reaching sail, like a great big Genoa, but on a little bowsprit to increase the area. Racing sailors will know it as a code zero although technically not quite so. This helps but with the tide against me I have a bit of engine power helping me.

Time to look for some lunch!

Peter
