Good morning!

It is a dull grey morning here, so we are just hoping that afternoon sunshine like yesterday is part of the pattern rather than a one off. It was not a restful night. After supper we played around with the sails and ended up spending the night under mainsail alone. This is not very quick with the wind right behind us, but we thought it might be the least disturbing during “silent hours”. Silent hours, ha ha! The sail and everything that could do slatted around. At about 0230 I put a preventer onto the boom - a line going forward from the end to prevent it crashing across.

I emerged bleary eyed to make tea at 0645 and then we reset the reacher, poled out with the ordinary genoa set the other side. The wind strength has fallen to about 12 knots but we are still managing to make 5k. With luck we might arrive some time on Wednesday.

Peter
