Well it is a year since we were in Costa Rica, we now live in Yamba NSW at
29 degrees below the equator on the Coral Sea. As I sit here in the apartment
(yes we have an apartment) I can hear the surf the photos show a view out
over the beach from balcony. We have the boat in the marina about 5 minutes by
bike, and this is my office, each weekend we go up the river for a couple of
nights staying near a little town called Illuka on the other side of rover. You
can see the boys playing here and boat at anchor.
The boys have settled into school and friends, Sean plays soccer and golf,
and we have the time play and enjoy each other. They are enjoying having regular
friends and playing in a group. But the boat is home, Tracy and I love the
river, and getting the family out, dropping anchor on a beach next to an island,
clear water, and then swimming off the back. The birds cockatoos fly over,
dolphins coming up along side, and kangaroos on the banks, yes it is Australia,
but we explore and enjoy.
Tracy has created a set friends and there is a real community in this ideal
place, we have time, I do not drive, just ride around. I have taken up surfing
again, and golf, which I am enjoying.
As I walked down a road the other day aI saw a sign ”Happiness is not a
destination, it is a way of life.”this applies to us, what we learnt last year,
and this year, find a location, a life and community that allows you and family
to expand and enjoy. It can happen anywhere, for me the environment a life style
we have now, allows me to enjoy the family have time, but deliver more from
work, as I have time and can focus.
Tomorrow we head out to river again, and Sean will enjoy is nippers (life
saving team).
