While we stuck to the bottom I went out in the dinghy with the hand depth gauge and surveyed 5 miles of coast checking possible areas. I was looking for not just an edge but a shelf which was basically flat I found a couple but eventually found one in the 25 foot range and in a nice spot. After going in and out in a grid a number of times and putting marks on land I was happy with the possibility, and headed back to boat to find the boat was just floating. So I pushed in back with the dinghy and then we headed over the anchorage I had found. Dropped in 25 foot in what I think is shingle/ pebble bottom and it took some time to set, but we are now secure.
Boys and Tracy got a shore to run around, while I swam the waterline as I have a couple of days of diving.
It is funny how things work out, this is our final anchorage in Central America, it is beautiful, the jungle coming down to beach, yet we are by ourselves, not many cruisers come down here we have met 2, and that is why there is not much known. But from what we have seen today it should be a good summary to Central America.
