(still using up the freezer full of fish we have from Baja trip). It 8 pm
and Tracy and boys decided they needed to swim, and have icecream, so we
went to reception got an icecream, and then the pool, (I have spent most of
the afternoon in the pool).
I am under a thatched roof cover, (not sure why) I lean back and see the
stars and crescent moon. The bar over the dock is to my right playing soccer
on the TV, and odd person there as it is weekend. Tracy has a sangria in the
pool ( I think she needs to train them on how to make it).
In the conference room adjacent to the pool they have a formal Italian night
which a couple of people have gone to, it is a bit of contradiction in this
place.
But the hotel is full with San Salvador people coming down for the weekend
and they get rates all inclusive with meals $79 per person.
The rain clouds built up this afternoon over the volcano but failed to
deliver, we want the rain to break the heat in the afternoon and cool things
down, it will come. Now I am trying to see how we can import some port light
covers to keep the rain out, this maybe a challenge but we will make two
attempts the second one is a person we have met who gets things through but
not sure for what.
I have moved back to the tile bar, on a wooden wharf, the breeze passes
through, and you hear the water gurgle underneath with the tide change. A
couple of people are catching fish very peaceful.
Today we helped move some peoples boats to the moorings, and Tracy started
to pack for South America, you may ask why is that such an issue, when we
are in 90s 930 C) and we going to a place 20 to freezing, and we packed all
our winter gear away months ago. On the boat we vacuum pack everything away
for a period, to keep the moisture out. So the exercise of unpacking it out
of the boat is not small.
I did not get to toilet tied up with other jobs, and I started rowing for
exercise against the 5 knot current, in my goal to get fit, and in shape, I
am certainly better than I have been in 15 years, but there is always room
for improvement.
So as we check out tonight, I will order another ice cold beer for $1, in 28
degrees C (high 80s) and sit here looking at the stars discussing items with
the other cruisers.
Cheers
