As we prepare to go, sure enough the weather starts to play in, we have a
strong weather system off the coast here which will bring us rain tomorrow,
but we have developing tropical depression in the western Caribbean which
will probably bring us rain over the weekend. But the bigger concern is the
building seas from a storm down near Eater Island which will get the seas to
3 m which will probably too big to leave here over the bar. We will watch it
but both John of Sunsenation and I discussed and we think it will be
doubtful, then we loose our tide and so plans change. But an indication of
how we have developed through the last year Tracy and I discuss and say "oh
well we will just take the next window and then fit a run for the correct
distance, could mean we miss the Bay on Fonseca and just go through".
But today was another great day of progress I was able to get Maxsea and
charts to run on Windows 7 so I can use my preferred lap top, this has been
a challenge since we let in January but I eventually found someone in
Support at CMAp who could help, and we worked it yesterday and today and got
the drivers needed and yes it is working Horrah. Then we got the insect
cover back with improved design for ventilation, and then we left the dock
and filled the fuel tank with 100 gallons and took the boat for a run at
full speed and test all the system as it is over 6 months since we ran
everything under load, and it all worked, will need to clean the bottom.
Great progress we basically ready to go waiting weather, with only a final
stock up needed.
Yesterday Sean and I sailed around the island it was fun and peaceful and
Sean helmed up one side and did really well. Having the dinghy for this is
great, and rowing, so we have activities and Sean is developing well we can
rig it in 10 minutes and just go, we will get so many hours of this. See
photos
Then last night we had a an initial farewell and thank you to Sharon who has
been doing the exercise classes for the last 7 months, it was a great
Italian night and gathering of many of cruisers from the estuary, see
photos.
So our life evolves
