Pelican, the last 2 weeks have been very busy. Boat parade was good this
year but 5 days of party and people coming down to the boat, which makes for
long days. Fitting visits to Santa for the boys, Santa seems to come up
every second day. Then our regular Dec visit to Disney land for our wedding
anniversary (9 years ago we married and then went to Disney) now we take the
boys. Christmas day was presents on the boat, which seem to fill the boat,
then up our Friends Helen and Warren for xmas dinner with 12, great
traditional dinner. Day after Sean, Alex and Tracy went to Seaworld (San
Diego), using up the annual pass, and Sean got to try ice skating for the
first time. With me finishing work on the 23rd and then doing the final
touches to the boat (not sure if the list of projects is reducing for
everyone I fix, I seam to add 2 more but they are small, nothing that will
hold us up. The new changes in the Dinette were a great success and continue
to prove the need for the change was overdue, as it is our lounge room.
These final weeks seem to busy just cutting the lines with the dock, having
done this so many times as a single, but now with a family the scale of
cutting yourself free is significant. No doubt we will have some loose ends
after we cast off, which we can clean up latter, the key thing is to free
enough that we relax and enjoy the freedom.
Leaving the Lake Forest, Wonderware office was again a major personal step,
I ma not sure I will come back to this office on a permanent basis, yet it
has been a major part of life for the last 12 years. I will stay on with the
company on an extended leave basis this allows me to be contacted just in
case I am of use, as well as it gives me the option to come back. As I am
not really leaving the company, but taking a break from work to "Live a
Dream" with the family at this critical age.
We still plan to leave on the 3rd weather looks fine at this stage and we
will do an over nighter to Ensenada, to check in and fill up fuel, and
probably put things away that were not so ship shape on our departure.
Steve has taken command of the galley stocks and Ed and I have been testing
the sails and rigging.
Stay tuned for now.
