Hi Folks,

Arrived finaly back in the bay for our last cruise around these waters before the big off down south to colder waters and climes,
having already had ten days up here prior to crimbo we new the temps would be in the 20 constantly, with sun to , this year the summer hasnt realy started in the south of the north Island so it was good to exchange thermals for shorts again.
We had to spend a few days on arrival getting all bits nautical ready for the trip, this included important things like sails and all the ropey bits that attach to the flappy bits to make us move along under wind power, it was a strugle though as Rob the "Mix Master" kept inflicting the "Bubba " effect upon us each evening, the same old potions I litre of Rum followed by 3 litre of fruit juice, it was the first time we had used a Bacardi, big mistake as my head the next morning didnt feel that connected to my head !
Anyway after all the rope rigging, sail hauling we were ready to go on our first exped to Roberton Island, we motored out to the corner of Russel then put the sails up and quietly wafted down the Te Rawhiti Inlet at a comfortable 3 knts, arrived at Roberton Island anchorage, rolled up the sail, at this point Rob had his introduction to hook dropping ... down she went and as the sun dropped down to the horizon for a magical setting behind the hills above Waitangi and the dolphins piroeted across the bay entrance, we sipped another of Robs fine offerings and talked tractors into the night, well the girls started to get drowsy at the sound of differentials and four wheel drives so the subject changed rather rapidly to more girly things ........
