Zephyr sails again, this time for a short cruise in the bay of Islands with friends, we are off this morning , catching the tide to Robertson's Island a nature reserve 10nm to the NW of here, it will be the first time we have been out in this area after arriving in November, lots of friends have given us the low down on the area, so we have picked the best of what they have shown us.
Yesterday we were putting all the halyards and sheets back up, sorting through all the gear and getting ready to slip berth F27.
Most of last week was spent installing the new fresh water pumping system, fun and games , Lyn and Dan were rubbing down the deck , its the first time since myself and Trevor did it some eight years ago, tough as old boots , I was glad to be in the engine room, although it is very humid here, a complete contrast to Wellington, I do prefer the dryer air, its a bit like a mini Panama environment but some 15 deg cooler .
A sub tropical storm passed to the North of us on Sat and Sun, torrential rain and 40 knt winds in here , out there in the bay it was 50 plus, a few vessels dragging but the holding here is quite firm so no real disasters although channel 16 was quite busy, our friends boat Summer wine had a large 45 ft boat drag down on her , she is only 28ft, but with two anchors out she held them while they got somebody onboard to assist the lady who was on her own, her husband had gone off to assist another boat so Leona went onboard , this was at ten in the evening, Mike got her back at eight the next morning once the blow had passed through .

Well will report in with new position tmrw via the sat phone

All the best to you all out there
