High Folks,

As we wind our way slowly towards the Tuamotoes , self inflicted this time as we could not make enough speed to get there for Bastille day , we will arrive a day later on the 15th , great debate has ensued as to when is the correct time to enter the passage into the atoll , the tide tables from two different sources have different calculations , and the Admiralty pilot and the Pacific guide pilot have another view on the calculation , we have decided to go for the old Admiralty pilot as they have been published since the year plonk, it is as we find not a calculation of six hour intervals but is correlated by the moons rise and fall , the basic std tide tables work on the same premise but in these atolls there is a difference of some 9 hrs between slack waters or so our workings show , this will be put to the test tomorrow morning at about 8 o/c when we make landfall at Rangiroa ..
