Hi Folks,

After a groggy start to the day induced by too much rum and coke from the night before we set off for a small island that had what looked like coral on its outer edges, we were not disappointed as when we arrived on the lee of the island we discovered such an array of beautiful coral along the whole tip of the North west side, its the most dazzling display of colours from vivid bright blues to bright reds and greens , the fish life was in abundance and swimming in and out of this sub sea forest of natures reef builders , its the best we have seen in the whole of the pacific,  the good thing about Tonga is that it doesn't have the droves of cruise ships and land tourist that French Polynesia has, it has a rustic charm that probably wouldn't appeal to that set of tourists but to those who like to get out and away from all that crap this place has a hidden secret behind every corner .
Well after waxing lyrical about the reefs it was time to a small island at low water and walk around it , the lime stone outer edges that have been scoured out over the centuries allow you to walk from the sandy spit we landed the boats on around the island on a shelf , myriad's of brightly coloured star fish ,vivid blues mainly , multi coloured sea slugs and cucumbers rest in this plateau that projects out into the sea , having lathered up with plenty of mossy spray, after our last encounter with the Tongan nasties .. these ones here favour the elbows only there infrared must work really well as soon as we went under the overhangs they came from the greenery above us for a late lunch.
It took about an hr to circumnavigate the Island of Nuka, lots of photos taken, at some point we will get them to press when we reach civilisation again , probably Nuka'loafa.
Back to the boat and a little siesta before the re-enactment of "return of the rum rat" we all gathered from Trinelly,Summer Wine, and Sebright for one last drink before we go our separate ways tomorrow morning ...
