Hi Folks,

Arrived back to our bed bedroom to find an electric blanket had been installed , nice, especially as the temps were down in the 2 to zero range, after Napier at zero deg, to jump into the bed that was positively glowing was a great relief I'm afraid that two years in the tropics has turned us into wimps, frost down here is not the norm, after a few days of the winterly blast temps returned to 10 to 12 deg in the day time, that the norm apparently for down here, whilst the B of I was back up to 18 deg, we are beginning to think that we have jinxed the place !
Tuesday we visited our new possession to make lists of things to do, one bonus was that we discovered the garage was 40m sq, and that we could get rid of the container and store our gear with plenty of room to spare, great I idea at the time, the following Thursday the container was duly delivered and I'm glad the lads who unloaded it were all the size of the All Blacks scrum, it took approx three hours to unload it, the Lyn and I sat in amongst it all trying to figure out a packing plan but three days of juggling and we are nearly there, we have managed to pack it all in to the back two metres of the garage, this I will board out and our gear can remain there until we get the house of our choice to move into .
In between the container arriving and the beginning of the week Lyn stripped the kitchen units primed and painted them in the new colour scheme, I ripped out the top flat bath room and started on the bottom one, removed all the window reveals, and prepped the windows to replace all the back of the house reveals, Lyn has selected all the colour scheme, painted the builders external repairs, she didn't like the way they scaffold here though, as most of the houses are built on the side of a hill the put large coach bolts through the timber frame into the upright timbers and hang a frame on the side of the building, they then put on there scaffold planks, hop up and start painting, it all looks a bit precarious but it works, anyway after ten sq meters of painting Lyn seems to have the hang of it.
I will wait till we have completed the top flat then publish a before and after photo run .
