Hi Folks ,

Well we are on the briny again, we left on the tide, its just like our old berth on the Hamble, we are up another river, this time its the river Kawakawa, the tide rips down here just as is does in the Hamble , as we don't have an outside berth we have to be careful when arriving and departing, thankfully we use our trusted bow thrusters, the Z boat and 8 hp outboard to push her nose around to manover out and in, its a bit tight, our length is nearly the width of the opening.
Our crew on this trip were Trevor, Sonja and York, they are up from Wellington for the week, a short one at that as the weather is due to close in on Wednesday with another howler out of the SE .
Anyway we left on a bright sunny afternoon for Roberton Island, another of the bays that Cptn Cook visited, these have been quite a few along our travels, I can recall at least two in French Polynesia we have been to that he visited, after clearing Veronica channel we put the foresail up and wafted along on the breeze to our overnight anchorage, we arrived at 14:30 dropped the hook, newly galvanised into 15m of water, turned off the engine and looked around the tranquil bay, just three boats, Trevor and York dropped the Z boat in and went exploring ashore, the rest of us just lounged and read our books, a wonderful start to the short cruise, meanwhile York who had forgot his wet suit jumped into the briny in his skiddys, Trev however took the sensible route and put his wet suit on, although it was reported to be warm !
About beer o/c the dolphins appeared at the headland of the bay, we sat on the back deck with our newly acquired folding chairs and sank a few beers whilst watching the dolphins catch there supper, a slap up meal to follow we all retired for the night tired from a hard days sail at the helm !
