Hi Folks,

Hope you enjoyed the photos, well mechanical gremlins have struck the gen set has put its legs in the air, no power coming from it at all, just after its 540 hr service to, its not producing any juice, we have tried all the obvious things to no avail so are now resigned to being on the boats engine until NZ ., I don't think Tonga will have the expertise to fix whatever is wrong with it ..
One of the oil storage containers split and dumped 5 litres of good engine oil in the bilges , so that's been another mess of potage to clean up, but alls been sloshed through and is clean again .

The winds are still gusting quite strongly in the bay, and on the latest projected forecasts is due to come down next Tuesday so that will be the first opportunity for those who are ready to get away.

We have entertained ourselves with between the boats as the wind is speeds are to high to go to the reef sight seeing or bike riding , even the mountain climb has been delayed till these winds abate, instead its been movie matinee on Zephyr yesterday, today it was pictionary on Rhythm, and god knows what tomorrow ....

Listening in on the net, this morning news is that all the six yachts at Palmerston are still hanging in there, winds have abated there down to 30 to 35 knots so the swell breaking over the reef has diminished, they still cant leave there boats for fear of dragging so I guess it must still be a grim experience , the lagoon I believe is sand on coral so if your hooked in its got to be in a hole or round a coral head not the best holding ground for an anchor in those conditions !

We on the other hand are sitting tight untill the weather abates before trying to go round to the other side of Bora Bora its a narrow channel so the weather must be a lot calmer than the present .
