Hi folks,
At last a chance to have my say , things are hotting up on a few fronts, wind up , speed up , crews competitive spirits up , plus more promotions , by the time we get to Martinique they will be so heavy with gold braid and medals that it will be a problem getting to the bar for a rum punch !
Recent promotions include , Roger (Washboard) promoted to Flag officer Grib Files , Graeme (Comms)  promoted to C.I.C. Celestial events manager , that fits in with his comms post nicely .
Mother Di today entertained us with a song for breakfast followed by porridge and the usual morning banter which includes the ritual abuse of the skipper,
it was much less this morning knowing that it was my blog day .
Rivalry on the distance covered hotted up with the easterly trades setting in , with Roger and Lyn after much goading by Graham and myself cracked the record of 35.9 nm on their watch , we had the last laugh though with the speed record which currently stands at 15.2 knts , it was a white knuckle ride on foaming surf , totally unexpected but an "Alton Towers Moment " none the less , plus big grins all round .
The brig is currently empty at the moment, this was due to the whole crew agreeing that the bread I made the other day was eccelent , even Co Skipper  Fluffy agreed .
The next big event will be when it calms down and I put my "topsails" hat on and am hoisted up to the top of the mast to investigate why our Topping lift chaffed away , this will be of great amusment to my felow mariners, seeing me slewing about like a autum conker on a school boys string will invite much mirth on the lower deck !
Capt Fluffy ( Lyn ) has found her sea legs and has had a pleasant few days one of those spent as mother , its the longest she has remained below at sea ever , plus a spot on dinner of liver and bacon , Roger was beside himself with excitement !
Myself and "Comms" have noticed the huge power drain whilst a certain Two members of crew are on watch ,namely" Washboards" and "Fluffy" the demond tweakers ,we are kept awake for hrs with the constant grinding and tweaking of sheets( in a sailing sense) to gain advantage in the best distance run , on the other hand "Comms" and myself just go with the flow with a result of much power saving in to the bargain ! but its relay nice of the guys to set it all up for us in the first place.
