Hi Folks,

After our second week end here in Wellington we have achieved much on the settling into the new country mode, Doctor soughed out,Dentist appointed and Iv been for an inspection ! However the banks remain a pain in the arse as we have just managed one transfer, our embryonic broadband is now connected, however the skype bit doesn't work yet ! still on that one ....
We have spent many hrs trawling through the property pages, not a lot that catches Lyn's eye though, the system here works like this, option 1 is to buy sealed tender, pot luck housing .. option 2 quite a good method, if you put a bid in for a house it needs to be on a formal contract, once accepted it is binding unless you word your get out clauses carefully in the contract , option three is the auction, this seems to be quite widespread, the housing crunch here is as bad as the UK so it seems the preferred method of the banks is to auction off ASAP to recover the debt, I dont think theres much of a prolonged easy payment system here it no pay no roof over head  ..
This week we will be doing a bit of crimbo prep, the pressy run, and local cards ect, last min pressys to buy ! it doesn't seem that this time last year we were still at sea ploughing our way through squalls towards Martinique , I can still smell the veg locker .. and remember the nights of rain lashing my backside as the 30 knt blows came rushing up behind us Zephyr accelerating, and the wild stabbing at the auto pilot control to adjust for wind shift.
However the weekly weather synopsis is indicating that the first of the seasons Cyclones are about to begin, the only one of our party still out there is Ike,Dan and Becky on Rhythm, nobody has heard from them since the vessels arrived from mid November onwards the ANZAC net has finished, one of the last boats to arrive the other day was Free Spirit with Paul and Anna onboard, they had last seen Ike in Tonga ! its a bit worrying but everyone is keeping an eye out at the customs dock for them .
Once I have mastered the photo transfer I will post pics form the last few weeks !
