Hi Folks,

We have had a few days of clear skies and warm sunny days which has been good as we have been trucking loads of gear out of Zephyr to the store, we finished the bulk of it by the Sunday evening and then started lifting the fore peak decks and cleaning out , all restowed and ship shape by beer o/clock , then it was off to town , Phaia for a Thai and I don't mean the female variety just a meal , old navy habits I'm afraid .. anyway it was a top nosh establishment and didn't fail to excite my taste bud's , the crew Lyn,Rob and Ruth have been complaining about my emissions from the neither regions for the past few days , I put it down to the bee Tui to be precise which is a Indian pale ale and taste rather good, Phil you would have been proud of me , I can clear a area the size of Manhattan in a bar within 30 seconds !
Thing on that front have subsided at last though ,I thought they were either going to get a charcoal filter and place it were the sun don't shine or put me back in the Veg locker , I have been spared that for a long time but I think things on the nasal front were getting desperate ..
After the excellent quisean , we went along to a local bar "Beachcombers" were a yachtie we had met was performing at talent night, it was more like a jamming session, brill night with the guys really banging it out and for the musos out there you would have taken you hat off to these guys, four sets of bongos, a base, two electrics, Fender and Burns, and a Rasta on tom toms , what an unlikely bunch but an awesome sound and one Checkers would have been proud of .
One thing we forgot though was this is a rural area and taxis stop about 11 pm , we rolled out of the bar expecting to pick up a cab " Wrong" good job the weather was fine as we had a five kilometre walk back to Opua and didn't see one car the whole way !
That will teach us to have a good time !
