Hi Folks,

Well the party was over and our NZers flew out from the shed back to the world , we however have a few jobs to get done before getting on our way, Down came the fore sail, and Lyn and Ruth wrestled with the sail and sewing machine to repair our flapping UV cover which had detached itself from the sail due to the stitching rotting in the sun , its our most used sail and now has 12,000 nm under its belt, Lyn has kept up repairs on all our sails over the past 14 months and we are in good shape sail wise for the coming journey what ever comes our way .
Lyn then went on to repair some friends of ours sails which have been shredded in the last blow we all came through, it seems that nobody got from Bora Bora to here without sustaining some damage to there rigging or sails, I think it was a wake up call , as the SPTCZ is lower than normal it is pushing fast moving lows down across the top of Tonga then south across the path that we all have to travel, I'm afraid that down wind sailing has ended and we are back to Biscay type weather systems, the further south we go the more unpredictable it will become.
Ruth has gone down with a bug so we are delaying our departure until she is feeling better , not a problem here as its a plesent place to dilly dally in .
No more free happy hours in the hotel , god we miss our NZer's .... no more long hot showerers either  ....
